What Is The Dual-Mission Model?

A Dual-Mission Model is the intentional merging of community-technical colleges and four-year universities under one roof, or where community colleges offer four-year degrees. Utah has long been at the forefront of this movement, pioneering a dual-mission model of higher education at several of its regional universities.

Subsequently, the focus of the summit is for national and international experts to explore the dual-mission model in detail, discussing its possibilities and limitations as states tackle higher education’s challenges and seek to maximize finite resources while providing necessary training and programs to sustain and grow the workforce and economy.
